Intermed was originated in 1967 involving ten universities of medicine in the State of São Paulo. It is one of the main sports university competitions in the Country, which is traditionally held in the Homeland Week in some city in the interior of São Paulo. During the entire year, athletes in each university train during one week to demonstrate their performance before other schools and all public in the host city.
